How the Tulip came to be:
I’m Wes, and I’ve always loved the incredible aromas that a siphon brew seems to create, but I was constantly frustrated by how finicky and unforgiving the process could be. On the other hand, I’ve always loved the simplicity and consistency of the AeroPress.
That tension likely helped to spark an idea - could I use the AeroPress to mimic the feature that makes the siphon special: the vacuum? My first experiments were very rough (imagine a Tupperware bin glued to an AeroPress cap), but the results were surprisingly good.
Since then, Dustin has come onboard, and has done some amazing work to refine and evolve the design. I can confidently say I’ve received more “wows” brewing with the Tulip than with any other method. It really is that good.
We’re now close to finalizing the design, and we’d love to share the journey, to gauge interest, gather feedback, and connect with fellow coffee lovers. If you’re curious or want to follow along, you can sign up for early updates and launch news on our website.
